Halfway through planting in the Top Terrace |
Fridays are always a tidy up day and everyone tends to the areas they are responsible for. I helped leaf blow the front entrance and around the canal area. After that we continued with the planting of the bedding scheme in the top terrace see post 10th Oct and also Oct 16th. When we do team work together - which are usually the big jobs like changing the bedding in a large area, I have been experiencing a lack of clarity of how things should be done, not in the way I don't know how to do things, but understanding how it is wanted, desired or required here. For instance I was asked to lay out the plants, but as I was not really familiar with the design, I wasn't sure what was wanted though I was happy to give it a go. Later in the afternoon we had a session with curator Colin Crosbie re the management of the Wisley Diploma because the garden manager who would have looked after us is now on maternity leave and they have yet to take on another person for this role. We were also introduced to David Morley, Director of Garden, Shows & Retail.
