Tues 3rd Nov

Department: Alpine

I worked with Mike this morning, doing the Display house, this time going round the collection houses to see if anything was looking good to change some of the Cyclamen that although not looking bad to have something a bit different (there's many of them at this time of year, one of the main ones flowering are C. hederifolium types) and any plants that were going over. Then I helped rake the Bonsai walk. The Bonsai is actually supplied by Herons Bonsai Nursery, who comes in to check on them regularly and to change over the display.

After I helped dig out one of the beds they're changing into a fernery. Then I helped Sarah do some weeding on the Rock Garden - including spading out gravel + soil out of a bed that had a lot of Nothoscordum borbonicum bulbs.
