Tues 17th March

Department: Woody

Me and Stewart went to Howard's Field to continue our work on lifting and redistributing cyclamens. We defined the edges of beds more and mulched with in house compost where we had planted.

Carried on with renovating Mahonias, from around 12/ 13ft to 5ft.

Thinned out the Griselinia littoralis, gently taking out selective and some of the bottom branches to take off weight and let lateral branches lift up a bit more. Pruned an Amelanchier sanguinea, taking back big upright stem that had expanded out too much right to the base.

Curatorial and staff talks - Sabatino on the Mediterranean Terrace and his trips for inspiration for this & Guy Barter on Abiotic disorders (see notebook ).
