More seed sowing today. We did different kinds of lettuce. Some in the form of pellets (which contains a few seeds within each 'ball'). Lettuce are sown on the surface and lightly covered with vermiculite including the pellets. They were sown in 6 x 6 jiffy pots, tref mix. When the seeds were loose and uncoated we pinched 4 -5 into the middle of each one, these will be thinned out.
The lettuce that I sowed were Lettuce 'Pigalle Pills' - pelleted ones from King's Seeds and Lattuga Rossa di Trento from Franchi seeds. I also sowed some Onion 'Silverskin' - a pickling type that apparently are approx. radish size. These are not to be thinned (other onions were), and were also done in 6 x 6 jiffies - 3 seeds to each 1cm deep, not covered in vermiculite.
