Team: Formal

- Propagated Persicaria orientalis, Incarvillea younghusbandii & Rehmannia elata with Billy.
- Sowed in 5" pots, pre-mixed John Innes based compost mixed with 50% perlite.
- Soil amount places excess of pot/ tray, wooden stick is used to smooth it off.
- Light tamping with custom made to size tamper (Photo 1).

- x100 seeds per pot.
- Lightly covered with rough grade vermiculite.
- Persicaria & Rehmannia were placed on the mist units. Incarvillea was placed outside wooden coldframe with plunged sandbed underlined by mypex to the top, covered with wood & chicken wire frames (Photo 2). Incarvillea is an alpine plant found in the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau.

Then worked on beds part of conifer lawn opposite alpine meadow, cutting down more brown seedheads - Ligularia dentata, Acanthus mollis, Chusquea culeou and ferns Osmunda regalis. Saved aesthetically pleasing ones for Alexis Pym, Education & Learning Manager, for a botanical drawing class.
