We weeded the Allium bed. Ryan gave us a little tour around the big flowered, early summer Group 3 Clematis trial he is looking after and in which we did a masterclass on in Feb 2015 - Clematis masterclass. As the weather is unusually freakishly warm for winter this year, some of the clematis were still producing new buds and flowering, so Debbie the trials officer was still counting them.
NBs: - Purple flowered ones are more prone to mildew.
- Ernest Markham is an interesting red tree climbing one (this was awarded an AGM).
